The Educational Playbox series is a modern educational tool for intervention in the field of written production. It aims at the development of basic academic skills of students in primary and secondary education.

The series provides teaching tools which essentially aid the student of the 21st century to foster and assimilate those processes that will allow them to acquire knowledge autonomously in a world overflowing with information. This new approach to learning shifts the focus from “what” to “how” and transforms the student from a “recipient” to a “producer” of information.

The first Educational Playbox of the series is a structured programme of intervention in descriptive written production, which is one of the most basic academic skills that students of primary education must possess. It comes in the form of a board game designed for students with and without learning difficulties in written production by the linguist Dr. Ilias Vasiliou.

A product of long teaching experience and research with students with learning differences, it is meant to support students in mastering the skills of writing descriptive texts and lead them to using them autonomously in the school context and elsewhere. The programme is designed to be implemented in a variety of settings such as mainstream and inclusive schools, private tutoring at home, and in sessions of individualized intervention.
