Writing and Translating in Business English is an upper-intermediate to advanced level writing and translating practice course, with less emphasis on reading and speaking, for learners who need to be able to express the key concepts of business and economics in English.
The aims of Writing and Translating in Business English are:to present learners with the language and concepts found in newspaper and magazine articles on business and economics;to help learners become aware of the process, organizational principles, and rhetorical strategies involved in producing clear and effective writing;to provide learners with opportunities to express business concepts themselves, by reformulating them in their own words while synthezing, summarizing, analysing, criticizing and discussing ideas;to give students practice in translating a variety of excerpts of business and economics from English to Greek but mostly Greek to English; and to a lesser extent:to develop reading skills and give practice in the comprehension of business and economic texts.
